New Machinery Directive

The Machinery Directive 98/37/EC was to be replaced by the new Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC on 29 th December 2009.

All machinery supplied since 29th December should comply with the revised Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.

Declarations of Conformity will have to be updated to comply with revised requirements and manufacturers and suppliers from outside the EU will have to appoint a Technical File holder within the EU. amtri veritas can provide this service.

The new Machinery Directive also requires additional content in the instructions provided to users.

There are some changes and additional requirements in the new Machinery Directive compared with the old one, for example, market surveillance, more emphasis on risk assessment and the quality system for design and building of machinery.
